Gilbert was born in 1100. Gilbert's father was Baron Robert II Of Hock Norton D'OILLY and his mother was Edith FITZFORNE. His maternal grandfather was Lord Forne OF Greystoke FITZSIGULF. He had a sister named Edith. He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Robert "The Consul" Of Gloucester and Elizabeth.General Notes
Founded the first 5 Royal Tribes and restored the Crown ofGweynedd in 1081. Was imprisoned by the Normans in Chester in1081-1093 in Bangor Cathedral.
