Hugh I was born in 0975 in Normandy, France.  Hugh I's father was Thurston DE BASTENBOURG DE MONTFORT and his mother was Juliane DE MURDAC. He had a sister named Gisele.  He was the older of the two children.

They had a son named Hugh II.
