Hugh Of Chester was born in 1147 in Monmouthshire, Wales.  Hugh Of Chester's father was Earl Ranulph Of Chester LE MESCHINES and his mother was Countess Matilda Maud Of Chester FITZROBERT.  His paternal grandparents were Earl/Earl Ranulph III LE MESCHINS BAYEUX and Lucy THOROLDSDOTTIR; his maternal grandparents were Earl Robert "The Consul" Of Gloucester DE CAEN and Duchess Mabel FitzRobert Of Gloucester FITZHAMON. He had a sister named Johanna.  He died at the age of 34 in 1181 in Staffordshire.
