Adelaide was born in 0998.  Adelaide's father was Count Raymond Borrel I DE BARCELONA and her mother was Ermesinde DE CARCASSONE.  Her paternal grandparents were Count Borrell II OF BARCELONA and Luitgarde DE TOULOUSE; her maternal grandparents were Count Roger I Of Carcssonne DE COMMIMGES and Adelaide Adelais DE SAINTONGE. She had a brother and two sisters, named Raymond I "The Crooked" DE Barcelona, Godeheut Borell OF BARCELONA and Berenguela Of Barcelona.  She was the oldest of the four children.
