Joan Lady of was born about 1218 in Criel-sur-Mer, Seine-Maritime, France. Joan Lady of's father was Raoul I de Lusignan , Comte d'Eu and her mother was Alice Countess d' Eu , Lady Hastings. Her paternal grandparents were Geoffrey de Lusignan and Umberge de Limoges; her maternal grandparents were Henry Count d' Eu , Lord of Hastings and Maud Plantagenet de Warenne. She had two sisters named Maud d' and Mary de. She was the second oldest of the three children. She died on October 3rd, 1252 in Hospital in Brackley, Northamptonshire, England.General Notes
Piers [de Braine] married, 3rdly, Joan, LADY OF CRIEL, younger daughter of Ralph D'EXOUDUN, COUNT OF EU, by Alice, COUNTESS OF EU, daughter and heir of Henry, COUNT 0F EU. Piers died probably circa 28 May 1250, at sea, and was buried in the abbey of St. Yved-de-Braine, near Laon. Will made circa August 1248.
