Avelina (Duvelina) de was born about 0960 in Arque, Seine-Inferieure, Normandy, France.  Avelina (Duvelina) de's father was Herbastus Forester of Arque and her mother was Gunnhild Olafsdottir. She had a brother and two sisters, named Herfast (Arfastus) de, Gunnora (Gundra) de and Senfrie (Eva) de.  She was the youngest of the four children.
