Alice de was born about 1161 in Courtenay, Gatinais, Isle-de-France, France.  Alice de's father was Peter I Count de Courtenay , Prince of France and her mother was Elizabeth de Courtenay.  Her paternal grandparents were Louis VI "The Fat" King of France and Adelaide of Savoy; her maternal grandparents were Renaud I Sire de Courtenay and Hedwige du Donjon. She had a brother named Peter II Count de.  She was the younger of the two children.  She died on September 14th, 1205 in France.
