His paternal grandfather was Simon Corbet , Lord of Pontesbury; his maternal grandparents were Hugh Pantulf , Lord of Wemme and Christian FitzAlan. He had a brother and a sister, named William and Margaret. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 92 in September 1274.-
