Richard Conant 
Richard was born in 1548 in East Budleigh, Devonshire, England. Richard's father was John Conant, Jr and his mother was Marie. His paternal grandfather was John Conant, Sr. He was an only child. He died at the age of 82 on September 21st, 1630 in East Budleigh, Devonshire, England.General Notes
RICHARD CONANT was born in the parish of East Budleigh about 1548. In 1588 he was assessed for lands there and he waschurch warden in 1606-16. He married 4 Feb. 1578, AGNES CLARK, daughter of JOHN CLARK, SR. of Collyton and his wife, A NNE MACY, whom he married 9 June 1544. Anne was the daughter of WILLIAM MACY of Collyton. Savage states that he is said to be the brother of Dr. John Conant of the Great Assembly of Devines at Westminster. Richard and Agnes were appare ntly a family of some means as their son John was educated at Oxford and his so n Roger must have been well educated also. Richard and Agnes were buried on th e same day, 22 Sept. 1630. His will was proved at Exeter, 13 Oct. 1631.
‌Richard and Agnes were married in a religious ceremony in Colyton, Devonshire, England. They had a son named (Gov) Roger.
