Roger De was born in 1168 in Middleton, Norfolk, England.  Roger De's father was Earl Of Hertford Roger De Clare Earl Of Hertford and his mother was Maud (Matilda) De St. Hilary.  His paternal grandparents were Jr Richard Fitz Gilbert De Richard Fitzgilbert Lord Jr/Clare and Gernon Adeliza Alice De Meschines Gernon; his maternal grandparents were James De St. Hilary and Mrs. Aveline (Evelyn) (Nmn-James) St. Hilary. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Richard De, James De, John De, Henry De, Elana De, Mabel De and Eveline (Aveline) De.  He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named James De, William D', Cecily De, Agnes (Avice) De and Avice Daughter Of The Earl Of.  He died at the age of 73 in 1241.
