Margaret de was born in October 1292 in Caerphilly Castle, Kent, England..  Margaret de's father was Gilbert de Clare , Earl Gloucester & Hertford and her mother was Joan "of Acre" Plantagenet , Princess of England.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard de Clare , Earl Gloucester & Hertford and Maud de Lacy; her maternal grandparents were Edward I Plantagenet "Longshanks" King O England and Eleanor Princess of Castile. She had two sisters named Alianore de and Elizabeth de. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Thomas 2nd Baron de and Isabel de.  She died at the age of 49 on April 9th, 1342 in France.
