Her paternal grandparents were Gilbert de Clare , 1st Earl of Pembroke and Isabel Elizabeth de Beaumont; her maternal grandparents were Diarmait MacMurchada King of Leinster and More O'Toole. She had a sister named Isabel de. She was the younger of the two children.-
