Gauthier II de was born about 1090 in Chatillon-sur-Marne, France.  Gauthier II de's father was Henry I Sire de Chatillon and his mother was Ermegarde de Montjoy. He had a brother named Renaud de.  He was the older of the two children.  He died in 1147.
