Rotrude was born about 0775 in Aachen, Rhineland, Prussia.  Rotrude's father was Charlemagne I Holy Roman Emperor and her mother was Hildegard of Swabia. She had two brothers and a sister, named Louis I "The Pious" Holy Roman, Pepin and Bertha of.  She was the oldest of the four children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Hugo "The Bastard" l' and Aupais of.  She died on June 6th, 0810.
