Ermengarde de was born in 1051 in Carcassonne, Aude, Languedoc, France. Ermengarde de's father was Pierre-Raymond Count of Carcassonne and her mother was Rangearde Trencavel. Her paternal grandparents were Raymond I Count of Carcassonne and Garsinde de Beziers; her maternal grandparents were Bernard-Aton III Trencavel , Vicomte de Nimes and Rangearde de la Marche. She was an only child. She died after 1112.General Notes
Ermengarde would appear to be Raymond-Bernard's niece. This is the second time in this Trencavel pedigree that it has occurred. And, once again I am not sure of the pedigree at this point, in terms of Ermengarde's detailed ancestry. In general I believe that Ermengarde is of the Count of Carcassone's family, as supported by Nathaniel Taylor's posting to SGM; but perhaps her mother was not Rangearde, daughter of Bernard-Aton III.
