Willa of was born about 0900 in Bourgogne, France.  Willa of's father was Richard I "The Justiciar" Duke of Burgundy and her mother was Adelaide of Auxerre.  Her maternal grandparents were Conrad II Count of Aargau & Auxerre and Ermentrude of Alsace. She had three sisters named Ermengarde de, Adelaide of and Richilde of.  She was the second oldest of the four children.
