Raymond of was born about 1060 in Dijon, Cote D'Or, France. Raymond of's father was William I "The Great" Count of Macon & Burgundy and his mother was Stephanie (Etiennette) de Longwy. His paternal grandparents were Renaud I Count Palatine of Burgundy and Alice Adelaide of Normandy; his maternal grandparents were Adalbert III Count Longwy , Duke Upper Lorraine and Clemence de Foix. He had a brother and four sisters, named Stephen (Etienne) "Tete Hardi" Comte de, Gisela of, Ermentrude of, Matilda of and Clemence Clementia of. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died on March 26th, 1107 in Grajal Do Campos, Leon, Spain.-
