Joan de Brus 
Joan de was born about 1226 in Skelton Castle, Yorkshire, England. Joan de's father was Peter II de Brus , Baron of Skelton & Danby and her mother was Hawise de Lancaster. Her paternal grandparents were Peter I de Brus , Baron of Skelton and Joan le Grammarie; her maternal grandparents were Gilbert FitzReinfrid , Lord of Kendal and Hawise de Lancaster. She had a brother and three sisters, named Peter III de, Agnes de, Lucy de and Margaret de. She was the second oldest of the five children. She died before October 13th, 1243.General Notes
He [Piers de Mauley] married, 1stly, Joan, eldest daughter of Piers DE BRUS. She apparently died before 13 October 1243. The name of his 2nd wife is not known. He died before 15 July 1279. [Complete Peerage VIII:558-9, (transcribed by Dave Utzinger)]
