Susan Maud de was born about 1160 in Bramber, Sussex, England. Susan Maud de's father was William II de Braose , 1st Baron of Abergavenny and her mother was Bertha de Gloucester , Heiress of Brecon. Her paternal grandparents were Philip Baron de Braose , Sir and Aenor de Toteneis; her maternal grandparents were Miles FitzWalter Earl of Hereford and Sybil de Neufmarche. She had a brother and three sisters, named William III 5th Baron de, Matilda (Maud) de, Sybil de and Bertha de. She was the youngest of the five children. She died on December 29th, 1210 in Llanbadarn Fawr, Perfedd, Cardiganshire, Wales.-
