His paternal grandparents were Stephen "Le Sage" Count of Champagne & Blois and Adela of Normandy , Princess of England; his maternal grandparents were Engelbert II Duke of Carinthia and Utha von Passau. He had a brother and three sisters, named Henry I Comte de, Marie of Champagne &, Agnes de Ligny de and Alix (Adelaide) of. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died in 1191.-
