William was born about 1160 in Of, Norfolk, England.  William's father was [Earl Of Norfolk] Hugh Bigod [Earl Of Norfolk] and his mother was [Countess Of Nor Juliana De Vere [Countess Of Nor. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Roger, Baldwin, Hugh, Simon, Nicholas, Isabel and Julia.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.
