Christian was born about 1216 in Mitford Castle, Morpeth, Northumberland, England.  Christian's father was Roger II Bertram, Lord Of Mitford and her mother was Agnes. She had a brother and three sisters, named Roger III, Agnes, Isabel and Ada De.  She was the third oldest of the five children.  She died in 1275.
