Isabel Elizabeth de was born about 1098 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England.  Isabel Elizabeth de's father was Robert I de Beaumont , 1st Earl of Leicester and her mother was Isabel Elizabeth de Vermandois.  Her paternal grandparents were Roger de Beaumont , Seigneur de Pont-Audemer and Adeline de Meulan; her maternal grandparents were Hugh de Crepi Magnus , Duke of Burgundy and Adelaide de Vermandois. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Waleran de, Robert II de, Adeline de, Eleanor de, Alice de and Maud de.  She was the second oldest of the seven children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named William de, Reginald de, Ada de and Gundred de.  She died in Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, Wales.
