Joan Beaufort 
Joan was born in 1375 in Beaufort Castle, Maine-et-Loire, Anjou, France. Joan's father was John Plantagenet of Gaunt , Duke of Lancaster and her mother was Catherine de Roet. Her paternal grandmother was Philippa d' Avesnes , of Hainault; her maternal grandparents were Payne de Roet , Sir Knight and Catherine d' Avesnes , of Hainault. She had three brothers named John "Fairborn", John "Fairborn" and Henry. She was the second youngest of the four children. She died at the age of 65 on November 13th, 1440 in Howden, Yorkshire, England. She was buried in Lincoln Cathedral, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England.General Notes
