Joan Beaufort 
Joan was born in 1375 in Beaufort Castle, Maine-et-Loire, Anjou, France. Joan's father was John Plantagenet of Gaunt , Duke of Lancaster and her mother was Catherine de Roet. Her paternal grandparents were Edward III Plantagenet King of England and Philippa d' Avesnes , of Hainault; her maternal grandparents were Payne de Roet , Sir Knight and Catherine d' Avesnes , of Hainault. She had two brothers named John "Fairborn" and Henry. She was the second oldest of the three children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Henry IV Plantagenet King of and Elizabeth. She died at the age of 65 on November 13th, 1440 in Howden, Yorkshire, England. She was buried in Lincoln Cathedral, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England.General Notes
