Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Basset , of Headington and Adeliza (Alice) de Dunstanville; her maternal grandparents were Philip de Gai , of Wooton Basset & Northbrook and Sedzilia (Cecily) de Berkeley. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Philip, Gilbert, Aline, Alice and Katherine. She was the oldest of the six children.General Notes
