Geoffrey Basset , Lord of Weldon 
Geoffrey was born in 1126 in Great Weldon, Kettering, Northamptonshire, England. Geoffrey's father was Richard Basset , of Thurleigh, Justice of England and his mother was Maud (Mathilda) Ridel , Heiress of Drayton. His paternal grandparents were Ralph Basset , of Colston, Justice of England and Alice de Buci; his maternal grandparents were Geoffrey de Ridel , of Wittering & Drayton and Geva d' Avranches , Heiress of Drayton. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Ralph, William, Jordan Basset de, Sibyl and Aliva. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 49 in 1175.-
