Frederic De was born about 1081 in Of Bar-Le-Duc, Meuse, France.  Frederic De's father was Thierry II Count De Montbeliard & Thierry II Count De Thierry II Count Of Montbeliard & and his mother was Ermentrude Of Burgundy. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Renaud I Count De Mousson &, Louis, Thierry III Von Moempelgard De, Guillaume De, Etienne, Mechtild Of, Gunthilde and Agnes De.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
