Stephen I's father was Count Eudes BRETAGNE and his mother was Agnes de CORNOUAILLE. His paternal grandparents were Duke Geoffrey I BRETAGNE and Hawise of NORMANDY; his maternal grandparents were Alain Canhiart de CORNOUAILLE and Judith de NANTES. He had three brothers named Robert, Bardolf fitz and Ribald. He died on April 21st, 1136.
