Hugh was born about 1215 in Of, Thetford, Norfolk, England. Hugh's father was Hugh Le BIGOD EARL OF NORFOLK and his mother was Maud MARSHALL COUNTESS OF NORFOLK. His maternal grandparents were William MARSHALL 4th Earl of PEMBROKE and Isabel de CLARE COUNTESS OF PEMBROOK. He had five brothers and a sister, named Ralph, Roger, John, William Le, Simon Le and Isabel. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named John de, Margaret and Isabel. He died in November 1266.-
