William d' was born about 1173 in Arundel, Sussex, England. William d''s father was William d' Aubigny , 2nd Earl of Arundel and his mother was Maud de St. Hilary. His paternal grandmother was Adeliza Adela of Louvain; his maternal grandparents were James de St. Hilary , of Dalling, Sir and Aveline. He had two sisters named Avice (Agnes) d' and Maud d'. He was the oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Richard de, Elana de and Aveline de. He died in Cainell near Rome, Latium, Italy. William de Albini, 4th earl, m. Mabel, second of the four sisters and co-heiresses of Ranulph, Earl of Chester, with whom he obtained great landed property.
