William de Albini, 4th earl, m. Mabel, second of the four sisters and co-heiresses of Ranulph, Earl of Chester, with whom he obtained great landed property. At he, however, died issueless in 1224, or, by some statements, in 1233, his honours devolved upon his only brother, then in minority, Hugh de Albini, 5th earl.
