Aymer (Adhemar) Taillefer de was born about 1160 in Angouleme, Aquitaine, France.  Aymer (Adhemar) Taillefer de's father was Guillaume IV Taillefer Comte de Angouleme and his mother was Marguerite de Turenne.  His paternal grandparents were Wulgrim II Taillefer Comte de Angouleme and Ponce de Montgomery; his maternal grandparents were Raymond I Vicomte de Turenne and Mathilde (Maud) du Perche. He had two half-brothers named Wulgrim III Taillefer Comte de and Adhemir (Aymar) V Vicomte de.  He died on June 16th, 1202 in Limoges, Haute-Vienne, Limousin, France.  He was buried in Abbey, La Couroun, France.
