Andrew was born about 1253 in Chillingham, Glendale, Northumberland, England. Andrew's father was Of Chillingham, Sir John De Grey Of Chillingham, Sir and his mother was Mrs. Lucy (Nmn-John 1225) Grey. His paternal grandparents were Sir Hugh De Grey Sir and Mrs. Hugh 1203 Grey. He had three brothers named Hugh, Henry and Thomas I. He was the second youngest of the four children. He died about 1300 in Broxmouth, Roxburghshire, Scotland.
