Foulques V "le Jeune" Count Of was born in 1092 in Of, Anjou, France. His paternal grandparents were Geoffroy II "Ferreol" Count Of GASTINOIS and Ermengarde, Countess Of ANJOU COUNTESS OF GASTINOIS. He had two brothers and a sister, named Geoffrey Of, Foulques V Comte d' and Ermengardis D'. He was the second youngest of the four children. He died at the age of 51 on November 10th, 1143 in Jerusalem, Israel. He was buried in Church Of Holy Sepulchre, Jerusalem, Israel.General Notes
King of Jerusalem 1131-1143. Joined the crusade to marry Melisend Queen of Jerusalem and inte nded to settle in Jerusalem. He fell in love with Melisend but she didn't share his affection . He was a stocky read head in his 30's. He was rich and brought an army with him. He an d Baldwin enlarged the empire and attacked Domascus and allied themselves with the Assasson s in order to get help from to conquer the city. It rained and they got bogged down in the m ud. Foulques V died in a hunting accident when his horse fell on him and he was killed by th e saddle. Baudouin I, (Bauldwin) took four sons to the crusade. Fulk became King of Jerusalem and rema ined there. He became King of Jerusalum. He was Count Fulk of Anjou and Foulques.
