Tancreed was born in 1171 in Rome, Italy. Tancreed's father was Roger of Rome and his mother was Alberiz of Leon. His paternal grandparents were Roger of Normandy and Alberiz of Rome. He was an only child. He died at the age of 21 in 1192.-
