Muriella was born in 0961 in Normandy, France. Muriella's father was Duke Richard (The Fearless) de Normandy and her mother was Princess Emma de France. Her paternal grandparents were Duke William (Longsword) de Normandy and Sprote de Bretagne. She had two brothers named Richard and Robert. She was the second oldest of the three children.
