Sir Henry was born in 1197 in Ashill, Norfolk, Eng. Sir Henry's father was Lord William de Hastings and his mother was Margaret le Bigod. His paternal grandparents were Lord William de Hastings and Maude de Banastre; his maternal grandparents were Roger le Bigod and Ida Isabel Plantagenet. He had a brother and a sister, named Sir David and Ida. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 53 on August 9th, 1250.-
