John de Cotentin 
John was born in 1042 in Normandy, France. John's father was Ivo III Bellomonyensis and his mother was Emme Lupus of Bretagne. His paternal grandparents were Ivo II Bellomontensis and Gisela de Chevreuse; his maternal grandparents were Geoffrey de Bretagne and Avicia Hawise de Normandy. He had four brothers named Neel (Nigel), Odard, Ivo IV and Walter (Wolfrid). He was the oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 63 in 1105 in Normandy, France.-
