Geoffrey was born in 1404. Geoffrey's father was Robert Richard Wyatt and his mother was Anna Jane Skipwirth. His paternal grandparents were William de Southenge Wyatt and Jane Bailiffe; his maternal grandfather was Richard Skipwirth. He was an only child.
