Hugh  III was born in 0938.  Hugh  III's father was Eberhard  IV UNKNOWN and his mother was Liutgarde of Trier.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh  I UNKNOWN and Hildagarde UNKNOWN; his maternal grandparents were Wigeric UNKNOWN and Kunigunde of Francia.  He was an only child.  He died before 0986.

He had a biological son named Hugh  IV.
