Robert was born in 1260 in Kilton Castle, York, Eng. Robert's father was Marmaduke Thweng and his mother was Lucia (Lucy) de Brus. His paternal grandparents were Robert Thweng and Matilda Kilton; his maternal grandparents were Piers II de Brus and Hawise de Lancaster. He had two brothers named John and Lord Marmaduke. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 19 in May 1279.-
