Groa was born about 0887 in Hvmmi, Dala, Iceland. Groa's father was Thorstein (The Red) Olafsson and her mother was Thurid Eyvindsdottir. She was an only child. She died in 0914.
They had a daughter named Grelod Grelaiga.
