His paternal grandparents were Nathaniel Squire and Sarah Higgins. He had four brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Ebenezer, Phineas, David, Daniel, Eunice, Polly, Polly, Mabel and Unknown. He was the third youngest of the ten children. He died in Rootstown, Portage Co, OH.-
