Frank E. was born on August 9th, 1861 in Newark, Knox, MO. Frank E.'s father was Elisha B. Squire and his mother was Mary A. Brannic. His paternal grandparents were Theron Squire and Sarah Wheeler. He had four brothers and a sister, named Harvey, George W., E. Martin, Charles William and Mary E.. He was the oldest of the six children.
