Charles was born in December 1864 in New York . Charles' father was John Passmore and his mother was Elizabeth Shapland. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Passmore *** and Elizabeth Westcott; his maternal grandparents were Edward Widlake Shapland and Ann (Nancy) Kingdon ***. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Susan M., Mary E., Richard, John, James, Thomas, Sarah A., Jane (Jennie), Eliza Jane and Henrieta. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 44 on July 13th, 1909 in Waverly Township,Van Buren Co, Michigan.-
