Joseph was born on March 12th, 1699 in Philadelphia, PA. Joseph's father was Anthony Morris and his mother was Mary Howard. His paternal grandparents were Anthony Morris and Elizabeth Senior; his maternal grandfather was John Howard. He had a brother and a sister, named William and Elizabeth. He was the youngest of the three children. He had five half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Anthony, Anthony, John, Samuel, James, Susanna and Mary.-
