Hugh was born in 1320 in Talton, Bucklow, Cheshire, Eng. Hugh's father was William Massey and his mother was Margery de Legh. His paternal grandfather was Robert Massey; his maternal grandparents were Thomas de Legh and Cecily de Cheshire ***. He was an only child. He died at the age of 51 in 1371.-
