Asa Newton was born on August 5th, 1833 in Madison Co, NY. Asa Newton's father was Asa H Gaut and his mother was Elizabeth Wood ***. His paternal grandparents were William Gaut and Salley Harkness. He was an only child. He died at the age of 72 on September 3rd, 1905 in Lawrence, MI.
They had two sons and three daughters, named Melvin, Leverett, Irena Elizabeth, Mina Ann and Griffis.
