Abraham Workman 
Abraham was born on April 27th, 1709 in Raritan, Somerset County, New Jersey. Abraham's father was Jans Derick Woertman and his mother was Anna Maria Andriessen. His paternal grandparents were Dirck Jans Woertman and Marrietje Teunis Denyse; his maternal grandparents were Andries Juriansen and Anntje Pieterse Praa. He was an only child. He died about 1749 in Chester County, Pennsylvania.General Notes
The children were born and raised in Somerset Co., New Jersey, but as
they became teenagers, started moving westward. Abraham Jr. was listed in
Capt. PaulJackson's Pennsylvania Regiment as "Abram Workman, Laborer,
5ft. 9 inches tall of Chester Co., Pa., enlisted 5/6/1756, Age 19, born
in New Jersey." In 1799 Abraham Jr. moved with his family to Belmont Co.
Ohio. Jacob died in Bourbon Co., Ky. Andrew as listed in the return of
Capt. Charles Stewards Co. 6/5/1759 as "Laborer, enlisted 5/8/1759, age
17, of Pennsylvania, enlisted for service in the Revolution 8/28/1776".
William P. Workman moved to western Maryland.
