James LITTLE 
James' father was Daniel Little and his mother was Annie Mary LEWIS. His paternal grandparents were Johann Henrich KLINE and Anna Margaretha GRIMM. He had five brothers and a sister, named DanielJr., Henry, John, Lewis, Peter and Mary. He had a half-brother named James.General Notes
! James, like his father, was very active in public affairs. It seems tohave been handed down thru the generations as his son, John, was one ofnine committeemen selected in 1841 to name the new county and county seatof Albemarle. According to the late Mrs. G. B. Reynolds of Albemarle,John named the county seat and they have always been very proud of thebeautiful name of their city.
James was a very wealthy plantation owner and owned many slaves if aman's will can be an indication of his wealth. All of his children arenamed in his will and all were well established on their own plantationsthat he had given them. It becomes evident that they all lived very neareach other.
